Francis Edward Carroll was admitted to the Supreme Court of Australia in December 1976 after completing his training in articles of clerkship with Flower & Hart, Solicitors. 

Frank earlier graduated with the degrees of Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland.

Frank then became a senior partner in the firm of Bennett, Carroll & Gibbons at Upper Mt Gravatt.  Frank left this firm in 1995 when he was elected to State Parliament.  In 1998 he entered private practice again at Wishart Shopping Village at Wishart and moved to "Wishart Square" in 2000 to larger premises where the practice is situated today.
